Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

disc.is is a beta service for creating music profile and release pages. This policy explains the information we use to operate it.

Information we collect

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, publish and save your pages, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve disc.is.

Service providers

disc.is uses service providers to host the site, store account and page data, and deliver account email. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services.

Public pages

Your username, profile content, music links, and published page settings are public. Uploaded Disc Studio artwork becomes available by its image link when applied to a draft. Your page changes publish when you save. Your email address and password are not displayed on your page.

Globe discovery

The globe suggests an approximate city using IP geolocation provided by our hosting service. We do not use GPS or store your IP address or the IP-derived coordinates as your globe location. Public location sharing is optional: only when you enable sharing is a city name and city-centre map position shown beside your published profile and live public rooms. You can correct an inaccurate IP match before sharing. You can change or remove your city in Globe → Your place on the globe. Private and unlisted rooms are excluded from globe discovery. Your city is removed when your profile is deleted.

Music account connections

You can import public music profiles or authorize a supported music service. We request access needed to read the selected library or playlists. Connection tokens are encrypted in protected browser cookies and are not displayed on your page. Only the music you choose to add is published, including titles, artists, artwork references, source links, and the source collection's username. No purchased audio files or private download links are copied.

YouTube playlist editing is optional and requires separate approval of broader YouTube access. Private playlist titles and artwork are shown only in your editor and are not saved to your public page. We change only the playlists you select and confirm to unlisted; anyone with their links can then view them. Video privacy is unchanged. You choose separately whether to publish these playlists on disc.is.

Disconnect a service in Settings to remove its connection from this browser. Imported discs remain until you remove them from your page. You can also revoke disc.is access in the music service's account settings.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated page data from Settings. Uploaded Studio artwork is queued for removal after account deletion; cached copies can remain briefly. Limited security logs and backups may remain for a short period.

Your choices

You can update your username or password, sign out, or delete your account from Settings. For privacy questions, email beta@disc.is.

Changes

We may update this policy as the beta changes. The effective date above will show the latest revision.
